1. In Using bold, italics, and underline
First, you have to highlight the text that you want to be affected by the control. In highlighting a text, take hold on your mouse and left-click it at the start of your selection so that your cursor appears there. Then, hold on to the left-click button and drag the mouse to the end of the selection before you let it go. And if you want to highlight all the document, use command CTRL+A or click edit menu on the tool bar and choose select all.
Now for your selection, press CTRL B if you want the text to become bold, CTRL I if you want it to italicize it, and CTRIL U if you want to underline it. You can also go to the menu bar and press B, I, or U buttons.
2. Centering and Page Alignment
In aligning a text, there are four buttons that you can choose from. They include align left, center, alight right, and justify. A word is usually preset on align left and upon typing texts, you will not that they are aligned this way. Center is used for titles and any texts you want to place on the center.
Right alignment is used for resumes and formal letters where you right align certain texts on the side of the page. For newspapers, research, term papers, and formal documents, justify is used where all the texts are both aligned right and left.
3. Keyboard shortcuts and menu tasks
There are various keyboard shortcuts and menu tasks that you can use if you want to accomplish some menu task in a faster way. Whenever you’re using a certain menu, take note that the shortcut keystroke is located next to the choices given.
On how to use word the proper way, remember the following short cut terms to make your task more efficient:
CTRL S if you want to save your document. Do is as regularly as possible, after every couple of minutes.
ALT+F and then press A if you want to save a new document.
Press CTRL+Z if you want to undo some tasks while press CTRL+Y if you want to redo some tasks.
Press CTRL+X if you want to cut something. If you want to copy but you don’t want to get rid the text, simply highlight the text and then press CTRL+C. If you want to paste what you have copied, press CTRL+V.
